When the Ultra-Grate first came out in the Whitfield Advantage II-T & III stoves, they were approx 7\" wide and had 14 bars across the bottom. A year or so later, Whitfield made a running change and reduced the size of them from 7\" to 5.25\" wide. The 5.25\" wide grates have 10 bars across the bottom. At that time, they discontinued the 7\", 14 bar Ultra-Grate, completely. Whitfield now offers an upgrade kit with the new style firepot and adaptor plate to retrofit older units.
