Harman Pellet Stove Hopper Lid Switch (48"): 3-20-232108-AMP
The function of the hopper lid switch is toĀ cut the power to the feed system if the hopper lid is opened at any time during operation. This ASTM safety requirement of installing a lid switch was introduced to pellet stovesĀ made in 2008.Ā The rule was revised by ASTM in 2013 to allow manufacturers to forego the switch if the same safety function could be achieved in another way, which is why there is no longer a hopper lid switch on Harman pellet stoves made after 2013. Models equipped with this switch STILL NEED THE SWITCH to meet the ASTM safety standard.
