Ashley (Circulator Heater) Brick Retainer.  The brick retainers are designed to hold the firebrick in place. It is important that firebrick are positioned correctly.  If you notice that the brick retainers are heavily corroded, warped, or no longer hold the bricks in the correct position, they should be replaced.
*It is a good idea to replace the brick retainers when replacing the fire brick.*
